YY 0495-2004 Dental root-canal obturating points
Abstract
This standard specifies the dimensions and composition of prefabricated metal or polymer-based filling tips or cones used for root canal filling, but does not address prefabricated tips or cones used to support crown restorations. This standard also stipulates a numerical system and a color-coding system for indicating dimensions.
In addition to requirements for the product itself, this standard also includes information about product packaging. Although this information is important, it is not included in the requirements because there are currently no feasible testing methods (see Appendix A).
Root canal filling tips can be either sterile or non-sterile when they are placed on the market. This standard only covers the physical characteristics of the products provided. It does not include requirements for sterility, so if the manufacturer claims that its products are sterile, the manufacturer should be responsible for this claim.
