Scope

This standard specifies the method of measuring the size distribution of submicron particles in the atmosphere using the electrokinetic method. This standard is applicable to the determination of the size distribution of atmospheric particles in the submicron range, and the determination of the size distribution of indoor air particles and laboratory-generated particles can also be carried out with reference to this standard. Since the actual shape of particles in the atmosphere is not always spherical, the particle size given by this method is the Stokes diameter.
