Abstract
This standard specifies the terminology, tooth shape, code, and parameters of face gears for timing instruments.
This standard applies to face gears in the winding mechanisms of watches and pocket watches that engage with cylindrical gears, where the face gear is the driving component. It also applies to gear transmissions on vertically intersecting axes in instrumentation, where the face gear has a module of 0.07 mm to 1 mm.
