GB/T 17888.4-2020 Safety of machinery—Permanent means of access to machinery—Part 4:Fixed ladders
Abstract
This part of GB/T 17888 specifies the requirements for fixed straight ladders that are components of fixed machines, as well as adjustable (e.g., foldable, sliding) and movable parts of fixed straight ladder systems that are not powered.
Note 1: "Fixed" access facilities refer to those that, after being installed (e.g., by screws, nuts, or welding), can only be removed with tools.
The minimum requirements specified in this part also apply to similar access facilities (such as fixed straight ladders) on buildings where machines are installed, provided that the main function of such facilities is to provide access to the machines.
Note 2: If no other standards exist, this part also applies to access facilities outside the scope of this part.
This part is used in conjunction with the requirements specified for fixed straight ladder systems in GB/T 17888.1.
GB/T 17888 applies to fixed and mobile machinery equipped with fixed access facilities, but not to powered access facilities such as elevators, escalators, or other devices specifically designed to lift people between two levels.
