Abstract
This standard defines the terms and definitions of high-voltage direct-current converter stations and high-voltage direct-current transmission systems that use power electronic converters to convert alternating current into direct current or convert direct current into alternating current.
This standard applies to high-voltage direct-current converter stations that use grid-side commutation converters, which use unidirectional electronic valves (such as semiconductor valves) and are typically based on three-phase bridge (two-way) wiring.
