This standard specifies the requirements for slow-release fertilizers, test methods, inspection rules, labeling, packaging, transportation, and storage.
This standard applies to slow-release fertilizers made from all or part of the granules of nitrogen fertilizers, potassium fertilizers, compound fertilizers, and blended fertilizers (BB fertilizers) that have been processed by specific methods.
This standard does not apply to inorganic coated fertilizers such as sulfur-coated urea (SCU), urea-formaldehyde slow-release fertilizers, or stable fertilizers that use nitrification inhibitors or urease inhibitors to delay the transformation of nutrient forms. Slow-release fertilizers that already have national or industry standards, such as sulfur-coated urea, should comply with the corresponding product standards.
