This document specifies the basic requirements for implementing safety-related communication between safety-related devices connected to the transmission system.
This document applies to safety-related transmission systems for digital communication, which are not necessarily designed for safety-related systems, but are:
— controlled by the designer and fixed during the life cycle;
— partially unknown or unfixed, but unauthorized access can be excluded;
— not under the designer's control, and unauthorized access is considered.
Both safety-related and non-safety-related devices can be connected to the transmission system.
Safety requirements are typically implemented in safety-related devices designed according to GB/T 28809. In some cases, as long as the safety measures meet the assigned safety requirements, these requirements can be implemented in other related devices of the transmission system.
The safety requirements specification is a prerequisite for the safety argument of safety-related electronic systems. The required evidence for the safety argument (including quality management and safety management, etc.) is specified in GB/T 28809.
This document does not apply to existing systems before the publication of this document.
This document does not define the following terms:
— transmission system;
— devices connected to the transmission system;
— solutions (such as interoperability);
— definition of safety-related data.
Safety-related devices connected via an open transmission system may be subject to various IT security threats, and a comprehensive solution should be developed to address these threats, including management, technical, and operational aspects.
In this document, information security only considers intentional attacks on safety-related applications through messages.
