Abstract
This standard provides practical guidelines for supplier evaluation and management of consumer product safety, including risk assessment and risk management documentation, to meet relevant applicable requirements. This standard explains how to: -- Identify, evaluate, reduce, and eliminate hazards; -- Manage risks to reduce them to acceptable levels; -- Provide consumers with necessary risk warning information or usage instructions so that consumers can safely use and dispose of consumer products. This standard applies to the consumer products sector. Safety decisions for products in other fields can be implemented with reference to this standard.
