This document applies to tubular fluorescent lamps (self-ballasted fluorescent lamps) that integrate components for controlling the starting and stabilizing the ignition point. This document specifies safety and interchangeability requirements, as well as test methods and conditions for determining their compliance. This document applies to lamps used for general lighting in homes and similar settings, with a rated voltage of 50 V to 250 V and a rated frequency of 50 Hz or 60 Hz. The lamps used must comply with the requirements of IEC 600611. For lamp head and socket systems not specifically mentioned in this document, the relevant information on safety-related tests provided by the manufacturer shall apply. The requirements of this document only concern type testing. Recommended methods for full product inspection and batch product inspection are given in Appendix A. This document covers photobiological safety in accordance with the requirements of IEC 62471 and IEC TR 624712. The blue light and infrared hazards are below the levels specified in the markings.
