Abstract
This document specifies the requirements for the starting devices of reciprocating internal combustion engines used on land, in railcars, and on ships, except for road vehicles and aeronautical engines.
This document is applicable to road construction machinery, earthmoving machinery, and other engines for which there are currently no suitable standards in use.
In addition to technical safety requirements, this document also outlines the inspection procedures necessary to meet these requirements.
