Abstract
This document describes the details of the test device used to measure the smoke released by cables or optical cables under specific conditions (for example, when some cables or optical cables are burned horizontally). Under flaming or non-flaming combustion conditions, the light transmittance (It) can be used as a means of comparing different cables or determining whether they meet specific requirements.
Note: In this document, "cables" refer to all insulated metal conductor cables used to transmit electrical energy or signals.
