This document specifies the requirements for threaded or non-threaded clamping terminal blocks installed on brackets, primarily used for industrial or similar applications to provide electrical and mechanical connections. This document can be used for connecting aluminum wires or aluminum wires with copper wires. This document is applicable to terminal blocks for connecting round wires with a cross-sectional area of 2.5 mm2 to 300 mm2 (AWG 12 kcmil to 600 kcmil), whether processed or unprocessed, intended for use in circuits with a rated voltage not exceeding 1,000 V AC (not exceeding 1,000 Hz) or 1,500 V DC. This document can serve as a guide for terminal blocks for aluminum wires that do not meet the requirements of GB/T 3956 (e.g., smaller than 10 mm2, flexible, or made of other materials). This document can also be used as a guide for other types of aluminum conductor terminal blocks, except for straight-through terminal blocks (e.g., partially insulated terminal blocks).
