This document applies to DC circuit breakers with a rated DC voltage not exceeding 440 V, a rated current not exceeding 125 A, and a rated short-circuit capacity not exceeding 10,000 A.
These circuit breakers are used to protect building wiring facilities against overcurrent and for similar purposes; they are designed for use by untrained personnel and do not require maintenance.
The circuit breakers in this document are intended for use in environments with pollution level 2.
The circuit breakers in this document have an isolation function.
The circuit breakers in this document are suitable for use in TN and TT systems, and in special circumstances, they are suitable for IT systems.
This document also applies to circuit breakers with several rated currents, provided that the appliance that changes from one rated value to another during normal operation is inaccessible and cannot be adjusted to a different rated value without tools.
This document does not apply to:
—— Circuit breakers for motor protection;
—— Circuit breakers with a setting current that can be adjusted by the user.
For circuit breakers with a protection level higher than IP20 in IEC 60529, and those used in environments with harsh conditions (such as excessive moisture, heat, cold, or dust deposition) and in hazardous areas (such as areas prone to explosions), special structures may be required.
For environments with higher pollution levels, housings with appropriate protection levels should be used.
This document does not apply to circuit breakers operated in AC, the requirements of which are specified in IEC 60898-1
This document does not apply to circuit breakers operated in both AC and DC, the requirements of which are specified in IEC 60898-2.
The circuit breakers applicable to this document have a high resistance to accidental tripping, whether caused by inrush current from electronic loads
