GB/T 4585-2024 Artificial pollution tests on high-voltage ceramic and glass insulators to be used on a.c. systems

Scope

This document specifies the procedures for conducting artificial pollution tests on overhead lines, substations, traction lines, insulators, and bushings. This document is applicable to users of AC systems with a nominal voltage of 1,000 V and above, and to the determination of the power frequency resistance characteristics of insulators such as porcelain and glass that are exposed to polluted atmospheres. Composite insulators, grease-coated insulators, and special-type insulators (semi-conductor glazed insulators or insulators coated with organic insulating coatings) shall refer to this document for implementation. If this document is applied to hollow insulators, appropriate measures must be taken to avoid internal flashovers of the insulators. When conducting tests on equipment equipped with hollow insulators, it is necessary to formulate preventive measures against the impact of the test procedures on the equipment.
