GB/T 4545-2007 Test methods for stress examination of glass containers
Basic Information
Scope
1.1 This standard specifies the test method for determining the corresponding optical path difference related to the annealing state of glass bottles and jars. The following two methods can be selected for use. Method A: Measure with a polarimeter and compare with a set of standard samples. Method B: Measure directly with a polarimeter. 1.2 Method A is suitable for determining the optical path difference of samples less than 150 nm, and Method B is suitable for determining the optical path difference of samples less than 565 nm. Note: The apparent stress measured by these methods mainly depends on: (1) the size and distribution of stress in the glass; (2) the thickness of the glass (the optical path of the measurement point); (3) the composition of the glass. For ordinary sodium-calcium-silica bottles and jars, the influence of the composition is minimal and can be ignored.
