This standard applies to the electrolyte and its components used in exhaust-type nickel-cadmium batteries.
These electrolytes are used for:
——Filling batteries that do not contain electrolyte; and/or
——Refilling batteries that need to have their electrolyte replaced; and/or
——Adding water to the working electrolyte when necessary.
This standard does not provide special recommendations for manufacturers.
