Scope

This document specifies the classification of automatic identification systems for electrofusion welding, the code structure of digital identification systems, establishes coding rules, and provides basic information on mechanical and electrical identification systems and adaptive control identification systems.
This document is applicable to automatic identification systems based on 24-bit and 32-bit barcodes, used for communication and welding process control between electrofusion fittings and welding equipment in gas, water supply and drainage, general-purpose, or other fluid delivery pipeline systems.
