Scope

This standard specifies the instruments, operating procedures, and evaluation of results for the continuous combustion test of flammable liquids classified as dangerous goods. This standard applies to liquids with a flash point not exceeding 60.5°C in the closed-cup test or not exceeding 65.5°C in the open-cup test. It also applies to liquids submitted for transport at a temperature equal to or higher than their flash point, as well as substances transported or submitted for transport in a liquid state at high temperatures, and substances that release flammable vapors at a temperature equal to or lower than the maximum transport temperature.
