Scope

This standard specifies the basic requirements for the prevention and protection measures against coal dust explosions in the blast furnace injection system of ironmaking plants using pulverized coal. This standard applies to the design, construction, and acceptance of new, expanded, and modified projects of blast furnace injection systems using pulverized coal in ironmaking plants, as well as to their operation, maintenance, repair, and management. The injection system using smokeless coal can be implemented with reference to this standard.
