GB/T 19520的本部分规定了可安装在公制机柜或机架上的19 in插箱或机箱的凸缘安装尺寸。插箱或机箱的附加尺寸符合IEC 60297（所有部分），公制机柜或机架的附加尺寸符合IEC 60917（所有部分）。EMC、地震、气候和环境要求及试验在IEC 61587（所有部分）中予以规定。本部分中使用的图无意于指导产品设计，只宜使用那些标准中规定的尺寸。使用的术语符合IEC 609171。
