This standard specifies the energy efficiency limits, energy-saving evaluation values, energy efficiency grades, test methods, and inspection rules for heat pump water heaters.
This standard applies to electric-driven water heaters that use a vapor compression refrigeration cycle and air as a heat source for the purpose of providing hot water.
This standard does not currently apply to water-source heat pump water heaters.
