Scope

This document describes three testing methods for determining the content of free isocyanates in artificial leather and synthetic leather: liquid chromatography (LC), gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), and gas chromatography (GC).
This document is applicable to the determination of the content of free isocyanates (1,4-phenylene isocyanate, toluene diisocyanate, hexamethylene diisocyanate, trimethylhexamethylene diisocyanate, isophorone diisocyanate, and diphenylmethane diisocyanate) in polyurethane artificial leather and synthetic leather. Other isocyanates (such as dicyclohexylmethane diisocyanate) are also applicable to this document.
