Scope

This standard specifies the specimens, testing equipment, scope of application, test solutions, test procedures, and evaluation of test results and test reports for intergranular corrosion tests of nickel alloys (iron-nickel-based and nickel-based). This standard includes the following four test methods: a) Method A: Ferric Sulfate (III) Sulfuric Acid Test; b) Method B: Copper Sulfate and Copper Sulfate 16% Sulfuric Acid Test; c) Method C: Hydrochloric Acid Test; d) Method D: Nitric Acid Test. This standard is applicable to nickel alloys used in corrosive environments. The selection of the four methods, the sensitization treatment system for alloys, and the criteria for evaluating the results shall be agreed upon by both the supplier and the purchaser of the alloys.
