Scope
This standard specifies a method for determining tert-butyl hydroquinone (TBHQ) in food using a high-performance liquid chromatography fluorescence detector. This standard is applicable to the determination of TBHQ in foods such as edible fats, fried foods, dried fish products, biscuits, instant noodles, quick-cooking rice, canned dried fruits, and cured meat products. The detection limit of TBHQ in various types of foods specified in this standard is 0.05 μg/mL (with an injection volume of 10 μL).
