Scope

This standard specifies the requirements for inspection items and inspection methods for the safety technical inspection of motor vehicles.
This standard applies to safety technical inspections conducted by motor vehicle safety technical inspection institutions on motor vehicles driving on roads in China. This standard also applies to safety technical inspections conducted by import and export motor vehicle inspection institutions on imported motor vehicles. When conducting safety technical inspections on motor vehicles that have been approved by relevant departments to undergo actual road tests, this standard may be referenced for guidance.
