Scope

This part of GB/T 21978 specifies the classification and composition, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and markings, user manuals, packaging, transportation, and storage of snow-melting rainfall and snowfall meters (hereinafter referred to as rainfall and snowfall meters). This part is applicable to rainfall and snowfall meters that automatically measure precipitation (rain, snow, and sleet) by melting snow into a liquid state using methods such as heating or antifreeze solutions. This part is not applicable to snowfall meters that directly measure snowfall without melting the snow first.
