Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the preservatives in modeling clay (also known as "color clay") using high-performance liquid chromatography.
This standard is applicable to children's crafts, school teaching, model design, art modeling, and other purposes. It is used to determine the concentrations of 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one, 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one, phenol, and 1,2-benzyl isothiazolin-3-one in modeling clay mainly made from flour or polymer resin.
