Scope

This standard specifies the design, manufacture, performance, operation, function, and testing requirements for marine incinerators used to incinerate garbage and other waste generated during the normal operation of ships (such as maintenance, operation, living and cargo-related waste). This standard applies to incinerator equipment with a unit capacity of 1,500 kW or less. This standard does not apply to marine incinerator systems with special purposes, such as those used to incinerate chemical substances, production waste, and other industrial waste. This standard does not address the electrical supply requirements of incinerators, nor does it address their base connection and component connection methods.
