本文件规定了IEC 60034系列涉及的所有类型和尺寸的旋转电机修理、检修和修复的必需程序。本文件建立了一个通用的行业规范，涵盖了电机全面修理的各个方面。工作范围取决于电机类型、额定值、环境条件以及设备的可靠性和安全性。包括：
——如有必要，确定故障原因；
——尽可能合适地确定修理范围；
——如有要求，定义修改后的性能、运行要求和环境条件；
——如有要求，应复查原始设计，更新设计规范；
——检验所修理电机的质量和性能，保持或提高额定能效；
——确保考虑到环境因素。
本文件不取代IEC 6007919中规定的要求，或其他关于用于爆炸性环境的电机修理或检修时的要求。
特殊场合用途的电机如气密型、潜水型、核能应用型、氢冷电机、军用型、航空电机以及牵引电机的技术要求由服务单位与用户协商。
