Basic Information
Scope
IEC 61400-25 (all parts) focuses on the general requirements for communication between various components (such as wind turbines) and participants (such as SCADA systems) in wind farms. Communication within individual components of the wind farm is not within its scope. IEC 61400-25 (all parts) designs a communication environment supported by the client-server model, defines the following three aspects, and models them separately to ensure the scalability of the implementation: a) wind farm information model; b) information exchange model; c) mapping of the information model and information exchange model to standard communication protocols. The wind farm information model and information exchange model form an interface between the client and server sides. As an interpretation framework for accessing wind farm data, the wind farm information model provides unified, component-oriented wind farm data from the server side to the client side. The information exchange model reflects all the effective functions of the server side. IEC 61400-25 (all parts) enables universal access between different clients and servers from different manufacturers and suppliers. As shown in Figure 1, the server side defined in IEC 61400-25 (all parts) includes the following aspects. -- Information provided by wind farm components, such as "wind turbine rotational speed" or "total power generation within a specified time period", which are modeled and can be accessed effectively. The modeling information in IEC 61400-25 (all parts) is defined in IEC 61400-252 and IEC 61400-256. -- Exchange services for modeled information values, defined in IEC 61400-253. -- Mapping to communication protocols, providing a protocol stack to obtain exchange values from modeled information (IEC 61400-254). IEC 61400-25 (all parts) only defines how to model information, exchange information, and map to specific communication protocols, but does not include how and where to implement communication interfaces, ap
