Scope

This standard specifies the definitions, measurement procedures, and evaluation methods for the power quality characteristics of wind turbines. The content includes:
——The definition and quantitative description of power quality characteristics of grid-connected wind turbines;
——The measurement procedures for quantifying these characteristics;
——The procedure for evaluating power quality compliance, including assessing the power quality of a specific type of wind turbine installed in a certain location, which may be part of a wind farm.
The measurement procedures in this standard apply to single wind turbines connected to the three-phase power grid. This standard only requires testing at the common connection point of the medium- or high-voltage system in the wind turbine and conducting evaluations in accordance with the provisions of this standard. The measurement procedures are applicable to wind turbines of any capacity.
The measured characteristics are only valid for the specific configuration and operating mode of the tested wind turbine type. Other turbine configurations, including changes in control parameters, may cause changes in the power quality of the wind turbine and require separate evaluations.
The measurement procedures are designed to meet the requirements of non-specific sites as much as possible. Therefore, the measurement results obtained at a certain test site are also applicable to other sites.
The procedure for evaluating power quality compliance applies to wind turbines connected to the common connection point of the medium- or high-voltage power grid, requiring that the grid frequency deviation does not exceed ±1 Hz and that the wind turbine has sufficient active and reactive power adjustment capabilities. In other cases, the principles of evaluating power quality compliance can be used as a guideline.
This standard is applicable to the testing of wind turbines and also includes information tha
