Scope
This standard specifies the method for determining 12 kinds of odor compounds, including toluene, in textiles by using purge and trap thermal desorption-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. This standard is applicable to textiles. At present, the relevant method standards for odor testing of textiles are limited to olfactory identification methods and cannot be quantified. At the same time, there are hundreds of different types of odor compounds, and the types of odor compounds in different textiles vary, making identification and quantification very difficult. This method standard provides a guide for quantitative analysis, but it does not cover all odor compounds.
