Scope

This document describes a method for evaluating the total surface concentration of various water-soluble salts on steel surfaces before and after surface treatment by measuring the electrical conductivity on-site.
This document is not suitable for determining the surface concentration of individual chlorides, sulfates, or sodium salts.
This document is only applicable to evaluating impurities that represent the majority of electrolytes (ions) formed when in contact with water.
