Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the methods for the automobile handling stability snake-like test, the steering transient response test (with step input of the steering wheel angle and pulse input of the steering wheel angle), the steering return performance test, the steering ease-of-operation test, the steady-state turning test, and the steering wheel center area handling stability test.
The methods for the automobile handling stability snake-like test, the steering transient response test (with step input of the steering wheel angle and pulse input of the steering wheel angle), the steering return performance test, and the steering ease-of-operation test are applicable to vehicles of Class M, Class N, and Class G. The steady-state turning test is applicable to two-axle vehicles of Class M, Class N, and Class G. The steering wheel center area handling stability test is applicable to vehicles of Class M1 and Class N1. Other types of automobiles can refer to and implement these methods accordingly.
