本文件根据集装箱外部尺寸确定了系列l集装箱的分类，并规定了相应的额定质量，同时确定了部分型号集装箱的最小内部尺寸和门框开口尺寸。本文件所列的集装箱适用于国际联运。本文件简要地规定了系列1集装箱的外部尺寸和部分内部尺寸。每种型号集装箱的具体尺寸已列入ISO 1496相应的标准中。
