Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification, basic parameters, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, information marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of mast cranes.
This standard applies to mast cranes with a main structure made of metal, which are either temporarily or permanently installed, as well as to any type of mast cranes that vary in design but share the same basic principles (hereinafter referred to as "cranes").
This standard does not apply to floating mast cranes.
