Scope

This standard specifies the dimensions and clearances of the front hand guards and their openings for portable chainsaws, which ensure that the front hand guards can fully play their safety protection function. The front hand guards not only act as a barrier between the operator's hand and the saw chain, but also serve as the driving components for the manual saw chain brake. For chainsaws with a ring-shaped front handle, this standard does not apply to the front handle area on the right side of the upper support rod (when viewed from the rear).
