Scope

This standard specifies a method for detecting magnetic leakage in ferromagnetic pipe fittings using an external magnetization method to measure wall thickness loss.
This standard is applicable to the online detection of wall thickness loss in ferromagnetic pipe fittings (except welded pipes) with an outer diameter of not less than 10 mm and a wall thickness of not more than 20 mm during the manufacturing, processing, and repair processes of these pipe fittings.
This standard is also applicable to the automatic detection of wall thickness loss in oil pipes and end-thickened steel pipes.
