Scope

This document specifies the requirements for the design and operation, performance specifications, test acceptance, and marking system of automatic and non-automatic mooring winches driven by hydraulic, electric, and steam power. These mooring winches are capable of controlling, maintaining, and storing mooring cables on a single drum.
These winches can also be used for cable pulling, as shown in Table 1.
