Scope

This standard specifies the product classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, and product user manuals for standalone smoke detectors (hereinafter referred to as "alarms"). This standard applies to alarms installed in civil buildings that operate based on the principles of scattered light and transmitted light (photoelectric smoke detection) and ionization (ionic smoke detection). Alarms installed in other environments or operating based on other principles shall also comply with this standard, unless specific technical requirements are stipulated in other relevant standards.
