Scope

This standard provides principles and guidelines for the development of normative documents, including the following:
—— The regulatory requirements that the objects of conformity assessment must meet;
—— The regulatory requirements of the conformity assessment system that may be used to verify whether the objects of conformity assessment meet the regulatory requirements.
This standard is intended for the following users: standard developers who do not use ISO/IEC guidelines, industry associations and alliances, purchasers, regulatory authorities, consumers and non-governmental organizations, accreditation bodies, conformity assessment bodies, owners of conformity assessment programs, and other relevant parties, such as insurance organizations.
