Scope
It is applicable to the exhaust smoke detection of in-use automobiles equipped with compression-ignition engines, with a maximum gross weight of more than 400 kg and a maximum design speed of more than or equal to 50 km/h. For compact multi-drive axle vehicles, double-decker buses, articulated buses, semi-trailer tractors, full-trailer tractors, articulated trains, and special-purpose vehicles with a maximum gross weight of more than 10,000 kg or a vehicle length of more than 12 m, as well as full-time four-wheel-drive vehicles, the exhaust smoke can be detected using the free acceleration method.
