Scope

1.1 This document, based on ISO 10326-1:2016, specifies laboratory measurement and evaluation methods for reducing the vertical whole-body vibration transmitted to the operators of earthmoving machinery by seat suspension systems within the frequency range of 1 Hz to 20 Hz. This document also stipulates acceptance criteria for driver seats applicable to various types of machines.
1.2 This document applies to driver seats for earthmoving machinery defined in ISO 6165.
1.3 This document specifies the input spectrum types required for the following types of earthmoving machinery. Each category stipulates a group of machines with similar vibration characteristics:
—— Rigid-frame dump trucks with a working weight of more than 4,500 kg;
—— Articulated-frame dump trucks;
—— Loaders without axle or frame suspension systems 1).
