Scope

This standard specifies the electrical and mechanical properties, testing, packaging, etc. of aluminum-clad steel wires for electrical use.
This standard applies to round hard-drawn bare aluminum-clad steel wires for electrical use before stranding, with different electrical and mechanical properties. The diameter range is shown in Table 4.
This standard includes the reinforcing cores used in aluminum strands and all aluminum-clad steel strands.
This standard does not include redrawn wires.
