Basic Information
Scope
This part of GB/T 20000 specifies: — Guidelines for the demonstration and evaluation of management system standards projects to assess their market relevance; — Guidelines for the development and maintenance (e.g., review and revision) of management system standards (processes) to ensure compatibility and consistency; — Guidelines for the terminology, structure, and common elements of management system standards to ensure compatibility and improve consistency and ease of use. This part classifies management system standards into the following three types: — Category A: General management system requirements standards and professional management system requirements standards; — Category B: General management system guidance standards and professional management system guidance standards; — Category C: Management system-related standards. Although this part primarily targets Category A management system standards, it also applies to Category B management system standards. Except for the provisions in Section 7.3 of this part regarding the structure and common elements of management system standards, all other content also applies to Category C management system standards. This part applies to institutions and drafters who develop management system requirements standards, management system guidance standards, and management system-related standards. It does not apply to organizations that implement management systems or organizations that conduct certifications for management systems.
