Scope

This part specifies the safety requirements for compression-ignition engines and their basic auxiliary equipment for land, underground, and water use, except for engines used to drive road vehicles and aeronautical engines. This part does not include the special requirements necessary for potentially explosive environments.
The engines described in this part refer to the prime movers up to the power output end.
The hazards related to compression-ignition engines are listed in Appendix A.
This part specifies the special safety requirements for compression-ignition engines based on the general requirements proposed in GB/T 15706.1—1995 and GB/T 15706.2—1995.
When compression-ignition engines are used in other standards, this part should be referenced.
