Scope

This document specifies the requirements for electric bilge pumps used for discharging bilge water, and is applicable to DC bilge pumps with a nominal voltage not exceeding 50 V, as well as single-phase AC bilge pumps with a nominal voltage not exceeding 250 V.
This document is not applicable to bilge pumps used for damage control.
