Scope

This document specifies the general requirements, testing methods, comparison sample tubes, inspection and review of equipment, acceptance, and testing reports for automatic ultrasonic transverse wave detection of longitudinal and transverse defects in square seamless steel tubes. This document is applicable to square seamless steel tubes with side lengths ranging from 40 mm × 40 mm to 500 mm × 500 mm, and wall thicknesses of 3.0 mm to 60 mm.
