Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions of the stem content in tobacco leaves, as well as the sampling methods for tobacco leaves and the determination methods for the stem content in leaves. This standard applies to flue-cured tobacco, white ribbon tobacco, and other tobacco leaves after stripping or manual tearing. Note: This standard also applies to sun-cured tobacco, cigar tobacco, etc. Different types of tobacco require different airflow velocities for stem separation. The airflow velocity in the wind separator box can be adjusted by a calibration disc, as described in Appendix A.
