Scope
This standard specifies the qualification requirements for function safety assessors and organizations of oil and gas pipeline safety instrumentation systems, the management and responsibilities of assessment activities, the cycle and stages of conducting function safety assessments, the scope, process, basis, and document requirements of assessment activities at each stage. This standard applies to the function safety assessments of safety instrumentation systems in new and modified/expanded onshore oil and gas long-distance pipeline transmission and storage systems.
